Cardano, the eighth-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, is experiencing significant growth marked by numerous developments and recent upgrades.
In the latest weekly report published by Input Output Global (IOG), the builders of ADA, it was revealed that 157 projects have been launched on the platform, with an impressive 1,319 projects currently in progress.
Cardano’s Ecosystem, Upgrades, and Future Endeavors
The native tokens on Cardano have reached 9.45 million and are distributed across 93,021 token policies. Plutus v1 scripts stand at 6,332, while Plutus v2 scripts have surged to 17,531. The total number of transactions on the ADA network has now reached 83.4 million.

The outset of 2024 has witnessed notable releases and upgrades within the Cardano ecosystem. The Marlowe team has announced the release of Marlowe 0.3.0, featuring significant milestones.
The first Hydra release of the year, version 0.15.0, has been successfully launched. Additionally, Cardano released node v.8.7.3, addressing a minor issue within the Ouroboros network. The Lace wallet has also been upgraded to version 1.8.
According to IOG, the ledger team has recently introduced various features, including new ledger events, an extension of the URL length limit, consensus queries, and JSON instances. The Mithril team has finalized the client’s implementation in Explorer, facilitating direct certificate verification from the browser.
Furthermore, the team has upgraded the devnet to support the Conway era and activated the Mithril era marker reader on the Cardano chain during end-to-end testing. Project Catalyst is approaching the conclusion of its community review moderation period, with over 70,000 moderations submitted by around 250 active level 2 moderators.
Over the past 15 years, advancements in quantum-enhanced protocols have opened up new possibilities for the financial sector. In line with this, IOG is set to support an upcoming collaborative workshop with the School of Informatics Edinburgh, featuring IOG Chief Scientist Aggelos Kiayias, Ethereum researcher Justin Drake, and other prominent experts from industry and academia.
