United States, 19th Oct 2022, King NewsWire, By now it has been scientifically proven that practicing physical activity on a daily basis brings significant benefits to the human body.
First of all, it is necessary to emphasize what “physical activity” is: according to the WHO, its definition is “any bodily movement produced by skeletal muscles that involves energy expenditure-including activities performed while working, playing, engaging in household chores, traveling, and engaging in recreational activities.”
At all ages, interacting with one’s surroundings through various forms of movement contributes significantly to preserving the health status, meaning a state of physical, mental and social well-being. In fact, there is a direct link between the amount of physical activity and life expectancy, which is why people who are more physically active tend to have a longer life expectancy than those who are inactive.
Moreover, it has been proven that doing physical activity brings significant benefits to our body: it strengthens joints and muscles, optimizes the metabolism, increases the capacity and elasticity of the respiratory system, improves the contractile capacity of the heart and its coronary circulation, but it can also fight mood disorders, as well as being essential to avert the risk of conditions that are typical of sedentary life such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and all the diseases related to the cardiovascular system.
As noted above, all of this has been confirmed and deepened by the World Health Organization (WHO), which, in 2018, launched a new “Global Action Plan on Physical Activity 2018-2030”, outlining four policy action areas and 20 specific recommendations and policy actions for its member states, international partners, and WHO, aiming to increase physical activity worldwide. This global plan of action calls on countries and communities to adopt a “whole-system” response, involving all sectors and people involved, acting at global, regional, and local levels to provide safe and supportive environments and more and better opportunities to help people increase their levels of physical activity (https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/physical-activity).
It is a program that involves all age groups, from children to the elderly, and its main goal is to reduce physical inactivity worldwide by about 15% by 2030.
MAGISNAT (www.magisnat.com), the innovative spin-off company based at Atlanta Tech Park, strongly agrees with what WHO says and strongly believes in the importance of physical activity as a tool to prevent certain diseases, such as Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs).
Moreover, the company is also making large-scale efforts to spread the Mediterranean lifestyle, which not only encourages people to engage in more physical activities, but also helps them adhere to a Mediterranean diet, rich in vegetables and vitamins.
With respect to this last point, MAGISNAT has decided to promote its own line of dietary supplements, named GARLIVE (it is hereby specified that these products DO NOT CONTAIN GARLIC). The philosophy behind it is the study of plants that are typically employed in the Mediterranean diet, looking for molecules with beneficial effects that can be used to formulate new dietary supplements. GARLIVE products are based on olive tree polyphenols, titrated in hydroxytyrosol. Currently, the line includes two products, both available on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/garlive): GARLIVE ORAL SPRAY (https://www.amazon.com/Garlive-Dietary-Supplement-Hydroxytyrosol-Support/dp/B0B4T7YZ9Z?ref_=ast_sto_dp) and GARLIVE RECOVERY (https://www.amazon.com/Garlive-Recovery-Supplement-Hydroxytyrosol-Vitamins/dp/B0B4T82ZLV?ref_=ast_sto_dp), both of which contain more polyphenols than two cups of extra virgin olive oil. Moreover, GARLIVE Recovery also contains high dosages of vitamins: among these, for example, it contains B-group vitamins, C, D (one tablet contains more vitamins than 14 ounces of fruit).
People’s well-being is paramount for MAGISNAT and, thanks to its team of American and (to a small extent) Italian professors and researchers, it is investing a great deal in the realization of this ambitious but very important project.
