The 2024 “Tour of the Tea Horse Road” Ya’an Road Cycling Race ended successfully

 

 

“Ride the thousand-year-old road and explore the hometown of the panda”. On November 2nd, with the end of the bicycle racing drama of the last leg of the Hanyuan stage in the “Sunshine Hanyuan of Huahaiguo Township”, it marked the successful completion of the 2024 “Tour of Tea Horse Ancient Road” Ya’an Road Cycling Race and the 2024 Sichuan Province “Hundred Cities, Thousands of Towns and Thousands of Villages, Communities” National Fitness Series Event – Ya’an Fitness Cycling Conference (hereinafter referred to as the “Tour of Ya’an Bicycle Race”) for 11 consecutive days and 9 stops.

 

For the first time, this year’s competition will integrate professional competition with “national fitness” competition, with two groups: men’s elite group and open group. Since its start on October 23, the event has been held in 6 counties in 2 districts of Ya’an and 9 stages in the Economic Development Zone, attracting more than 400 drivers from 9 countries and regions including China, France, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines, and the number of participants is twice as high as that of previous editions.

 

 

Accompanied by the beautiful scenery of the land of Yazhou, the contestants challenged the ancient but vibrant Tea Horse Trail. Every climb and sprint erupt condensed into the glory of the finish.

 

The event also combined with the current hot characteristic market consumption scene, set up 4 carnival activities, cultural performances, food markets, intangible cultural heritage products and other elements into it, so that the contestants and tourists can feel the fireworks with Ya’an local characteristics and release the consumption potential.

In addition, “travel with the event” is also a major feature of this event, and three theme tour activities of watching the competition, research, and leisure and fitness are launched. The activity combines outdoor camping, characteristic homestays, and flavor food, and runs through scenic spots such as Hanyuan Ancient Road Village, Mengding Mountain, Tea Horse Ancient Road, and Red Jiajin Mountain in Ya’an, which is another practice of the integrated development of culture, sports and tourism in Ya’an!

Since its first event in 2020, the “Tour of Ya’an Bicycle Race” has attracted more than 300,000 bicycle enthusiasts from both international and domestic countries for five consecutive years. The integration of cycling and tourism and the continuous promotion of “cycling +” extension activities have promoted Ya’an’s cultural tourism brand of “Walking Sichuan Comfortably, Pandas Watching Ya’an” to become more and more resounding.
