Bangkok, Thailand, 29th Jul 2022,  The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, will host the third Multimedia Online Virtual Exhibition (MOVE) from 1st to 3rd August 2022, presenting the latest projects and services from 30 top Thai companies operating in the digital content industry.

Mr. Phusit Ratanakul Sereroengrit – Director-General of the DITP confirmed the importance of the digital content industry – currently contributing over 5.8 billion USD to the national economy.

The government is committed to supporting Thailand’s creative economy, conforming with the policy issued by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, Mr. Jurin Laksanawisit of establishing Thailand as the hub of the region’s creative industry. As the result of the government’s advocacy through various trade activities, there has been a distinct recognition of Thai digital content talent in the global market.

Mr. Phusit Ratanakul Sereroengrit said, “The global demand for digital content has grown exponentially. This is largely driven by international streaming platforms such as Netflix, Disney+, WeTV, iQIYI, VIU, HBO GO and Prime Video. The global streaming market is forecast to grow 12% a year – from $342b in 2019 to approximately $842b in 2027.

A 2020 survey reported that the value of the digital content industry in Thailand was over $5.8b. The film and television industry was valued at over $4b of which almost $1b was generated from online distribution.

In its third year, MOVE shall continue to provide a vital database of the industry, a showcase of Thailand’s latest digital content, and a portal allowing Thai companies to connect to potential international partners and meet online.

MOVE also adds a new element to the program with the Pitching Event, where a new generation of digital content producers will have an opportunity to pitch their latest projects with fresh, out-of-the-box ideas to international industry leaders.”

In 2022, MOVE will feature 30 top Thai companies in the digital content industry. These include Five Star Production, M Pictures, GDH 559, Sahamongkolfilm International, BEC World, Thai Broadcasting, Benetone Films, Kantana Post Production (Thailand) and The Monk Studios.
