Sellout Crowds Expected for Nation’s First Pickleball Expo

In just a few weeks, Pickleball is about to make its official debut to the public as the Franklin Sports National Pickleball Expo gets underway on Saturday and Sunday, December 3rd and 4th.

Move over tennis and golf.  Sellout crowds are expected to attend the much anticipated coming-out party for the nation’s fastest-growing sport.  There will be everything from pro-tournaments, to wheelchair tournaments; themed restaurants, equipment, merchandise, courts, clubs, apparel, free instruction, and even pickleball gifts just in time for the holiday shopping season.  “There will be something for everyone at the expo,” said Don Wallace of the National Pickleball Expo. “We made it fun for all ages and all skill levels.  Everyone from the person who has never played, all the way to pro-am players.”

“According to USA Pickleball, there has been a 39.3% increase in growth in the past 2 years with the majority of towns and communities scrambling to keep up with the demand for pickleball courts,” stated Carl Foster, host of CBS Sports Inside WORLD Pickleball TV Show, who will be providing coverage at the show.

“A year ago, I had no idea what pickleball was,” said Dr. Adam Cherry of Delray Beach, FL, but after reading about all these celebrities who are getting into pickleball, I had to see what all the commotion was about.  Now, I play 5 days a week and can’t get enough of it,” continued Cherry, who was referring to the recent news of Lebron James, Tom Brady, and now Mark Cuban who recently invested in their own professional pickleball teams.  “Just like millions of other Americans, I’ve been following pickleball over the past few years, and I couldn’t pass up the chance to invest in the fastest-growing game in the country,” Mark Cuban said in a statement.

The pickleball boom is just getting started.  Companies and investors are throwing money into pickleball in a similar fashion when the Internet boomed in the mid-90’s.  There is even an initiative called the 40 by 30 project, which is shared by Major League Pickleball, that brings pickleball to 40 million people by the year 2023.

The show opens on Saturday, December 3rd at 10am, and wraps-up on Sunday, December 4th at 5pm.  Half-price coupons are available until November 15th, at the National Pickleball Expo official website.
