On the Autobahn 14 in the district of Leipzig, a truck driver may have saved the life of a colleague. Near Parthenstein, the 23-year-old watched on Tuesday evening as an apparently unconscious man lost control of his vehicle behind the wheel of a truck, collided with a central guardrail and slid about 500 metres along it.
The 23-year-old decided to stop the truck: he sheared in and brought the vehicle to a halt with a brake. According to the police, this prevented major personal injury and property damage.
The 58-year-old colleague apparently had health problems. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
