With more than 3,000 dapps built on its blockchain, Ethereum represents one of the most popular networks for developers to create applications and for end users to access the DeFi ecosystem. As more and more projects use Ethereum, the demand for Solidity developers and other Ethereum jobs grows. By analyzing Crypto Jobs List data on the crypto job market, we identified salary trends in the Ethereum ecosystem for 2022.

As for bottom 10% salaries, Ethereum salaries outgo crypto salaries by 4.35 times. Looking at top 10% salaries instead, Ethereum top professionals earn 37% less than the average of top 10% salaries in the Web3 industry.

Among top paid jobs in the Ethereum ecosystem we find the role of Engineering Manager, who is responsible for planning and coordinating engineering projects and supervising R&D teams (top 10%: $230,000/year). It is followed by the Solidity Developer (top 10%: $200,000/year), who develops smart contracts based on Ethereum using the Solidity programming language.

Looking more specifically at Solidity jobs, a subset of Etherum jobs, we soon notice that this niche’s average salary is 2% lower than the average calculated on the broader Ethereum ecosystem; on the other hand, Solidity’s top 10% salaries outperforme Ethereum salaries by 67%: this shows the variability of salaries among Solidity jobs, which can go from $20,000/year (bottom 10%) for an entry level position in developing countries to $250,000/year for senior positions in countries like the US.
