That should change now, with shares of the group after massive criticism, the “New York Times” reported. This change comes at a time in the thousands of people inside and outside of the U.S. protest after the death of George Floyd against police violence and discrimination.
In an E-Mail, the Walmart spokesman Lorenzo Lopez released a Statement, as the “New York Times” reported: “As a retailer serving millions of customers with a varying Background that does not tolerate Walmart no discrimination of any kind.” Further it says: “We have made the decision to place multi – cultural hair care and beauty products in sealed boxes, a practice which is practiced in about a dozen of our 4700 stores across the country.”
In the year 2018, the retailer was sued by a woman from California due to racial discrimination. The dispute was settled by a Federal court. Walmart did not comment on the demand of the “New York Times” as to whether it had come to an out-of-court agreement with the plaintiff.
