Racism charge: Walmart changes sales of skin care products for Black

In some branches of the US retailer Walmart toiletries were included products for African-Americans in glass display cases. To keep the practice of specific care products under lock and key, under body Black have a tendency to theft. A recently published report of the TV channel CBS made carefully.

That should change now, with shares of the group after massive criticism, the “New York Times” reported. This change comes at a time in the thousands of people inside and outside of the U.S. protest after the death of George Floyd against police violence and discrimination.

Walmart expresses in a Statement

In an E-Mail, the Walmart spokesman Lorenzo Lopez released a Statement, as the “New York Times” reported: “As a retailer serving millions of customers with a varying Background that does not tolerate Walmart no discrimination of any kind.” Further it says: “We have made the decision to place multi – cultural hair care and beauty products in sealed boxes, a practice which is practiced in about a dozen of our 4700 stores across the country.”

Lawsuit for racial discrimination against Walmart

In the year 2018, the retailer was sued by a woman from California due to racial discrimination. The dispute was settled by a Federal court. Walmart did not comment on the demand of the “New York Times” as to whether it had come to an out-of-court agreement with the plaintiff.
