Machinery – Small Plus – Economy

The mechanical engineering sector in Germany is gradually recovering from the effects of the Corona-crisis. After sharp declines in August were new orders in September is a sign of hope. Although the level of the previous year in price-adjusted terms was not achieved even by ten percent, as the industry Association VDMA said. “Domestic orders but recorded for the first time since January of this year, again an increase,” said VDMA chief economist Ralph Wiechers. The increase in orders of four per cent from Germany, but also with a weak prior-year month. The new orders from abroad fell, meanwhile, in September, with a strong growth of 16 percent year-on-year month. The demand for machinery and equipment is a break-in at the Corona-crisis.
