Local roofing contractor starts petition to address corruption within the Metro Nashville Police Department

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE. – Today, James Kenton, a roofing contractor from Mount Juliet, Tennessee, and member of the American Bar Association, has started a petition to address the problem of corruption within the Metro Nashville Police Department. So far, the petition to end police corruption in Nashville has received 238 signatures.

The petition to end police corruption in Nashville was started after Mr. Kenton was wrongfully accused of felony charges that stripped Mr. Kenton from his roofing contractor license, land, and boat. Since then, the criminal case was dismissed and Kenton’s property was returned, however, this unfortunate incident has left Mr. Kenton with tremendous harm to his reputation, hurt to his business, and general distress surrounding the events that occurred.

In response, Mr. Kenton initiated a lawsuit against the state of Tennessee and the Assistant District Attorney (ADA), Chadwick Jackson, for constitutional violations relating to his mistreatment by police detective Willam Thorowgood of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department. This lawsuit seeks to hold those responsible accountable for the wrong that was done and will feature all depositions being posted on YouTube to ensure transparency in the proceedings. Since Mr. Kenton initiated the lawsuit, the State of Tennessee and ADA have responded by charging Mr. Kenton with five felony charges as retaliation for Mr. Kenton demanding recompense for the civil and constitutional rights violations that occurred during the first criminal case against him.

Support James Kenton through this journey by signing his petition on Change.org or by donating to his GoFundMe.
