Investigroup announces 2023 Ghana Housing Project.

United States, 29th Dec 2022 – Investigroup LLC is set to begin its affordable housing project in 2023 to help reduce Ghana’s housing deficit which currently stands at about 1.5 million units. The 2-year project, located at Maame Dede in the Upper West Akim district near Nsawam in the Eastern region, is expected to produce 156 housing units on a 5-acre land.

According to Dr. Owusu Kizito, CEO of Investigroup LLC, the project is aimed at the middle class and above. He added that the company had arranged a mortgage with CalBank to help prospective buyers own a unit. A 2-bedroom unit will be priced between $38,000 and $48,000, while a 3-bedroom unit will cost between $52,000 and $62,000 for foreign investors. Local owners will pay in cedis.

The Maame Dede project is expected to be the launch pad for the company to expand into other parts of the country. “We have been mandated to build across the country by the Ministry of Works and Housing. Starting with this one, we can build about 1000 to be modest and scale up to 10,000 from there,” said Dr. Kizito.

Investment partner, Louvina Robinson Ford, said that people in the US would be able to purchase the property through GOPX tokens. She added that part of the funding from the token would go back into the liquidity pool to help build the ecosystem.

Representing Works and Housing minister Francis Asenso-Boakye, Director for Policy Planning, Budget Monitoring, and Evaluation, Rev. Stephen Yaw Osei, shared the government’s revised approach to affordable housing to attract investors.

The District Chief Executive of Upper West Akim and the Member of Parliament for the area have welcomed the project due to its potential benefits.
