Fishing with Hot Spots Charters Pensacola

If you’ve never visited, you’re really missing the boat. The city is known for its beautiful sugar white beaches, the Blue Angels, and of course it’s fishing.

Inshore and offshore charters are both available at Hot Spots Charters in Pensacola. Inshore trips are operated in twenty-two to twenty-four foot boats. Offshore charters are operated on thirty-one to thirty-two foot boats.

All charters could classified as deep sea fishing considering that we go out in the Gulf of Mexico on most of our charters when the weather allows. The good news is that on the inshore/nearshore trips we can still go fishing a lot of the time when its rough by staying in Pensacola Bay.

A wide variety of species caught be caught on the inshore nearshore trips including; redfish, speckled trout, flounder, sheepshead mackerel, sharks, red snapper, vermillion snapper, triggerfish, and much more depending on the time of year.

Offshore charters you’ll typically be bottom fishing out in the Gulf of Mexico for red snapper, triggerfish, grouper, scamp, vermillion snapper, and amberjack. We also occasionally come across a cobia and when the conditions are right troll for mackerel, wahoo, and dolphin.

Fishing changes daily, so unless there’s something you really want to check off your bucket list its best to let the captain point you in the right direction on targeted species. You also want to discuss with your captain keeping fish compared to catch and release. Depending on what’s open to keep quite often you can have a much more enjoyable adventure by going with catch and release.
