Offshore charters you’ll typically be bottom fishing out in the Gulf of Mexico for red snapper, triggerfish, grouper, scamp, vermillion snapper, and amberjack. We also occasionally come across a cobia and when the conditions are right troll for mackerel, wahoo, and dolphin.

Fishing changes daily, so unless there’s something you really want to check off your bucket list its best to let the captain point you in the right direction on targeted species. You also want to discuss with your captain keeping fish compared to catch and release. Depending on what’s open to keep quite often you can have a much more enjoyable adventure by going with catch and release.
