Canary Capital Launches Axelar Trust: Details

Canary Capital announced the launch of the Canary AXL Trust, a private investment vehicle offering institutional investors exposure to AXL, the native token powering the Axelar Network. This development represents a significant step in bridging traditional finance with blockchain technology while cementing Axelar’s role as a key player in Web3 interoperability.

Axelar has gained substantial traction by connecting major blockchain ecosystems, including Ethereum, Solana, XRP Ledger, and Hedera. The Canary AXL Trust is the first institutional-grade investment product designed to target this growing sector, highlighting the increasing demand for cross-chain infrastructure.

Building on its previous success, Canary Capital introduced the HBAR Trust, which provided institutional exposure to the Hedera network. The strong performance of that investment vehicle paved the way for the AXL Trust, expanding Canary’s offerings beyond layer-1 networks and into interoperability solutions.

As blockchain interoperability becomes a fundamental pillar of decentralized finance, AXL offers a compelling opportunity for investors looking beyond traditional crypto assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum. By eliminating the need for direct token management, the trust provides secure, regulated access to AXL, making it an attractive option for institutional investors seeking exposure to the next evolution of blockchain technology.

Axelar’s Growing Institutional Adoption

Axelar has experienced significant growth, becoming the 11th largest blockchain by total value locked, surpassing $1 billion in early 2025. The network processed $10 billion in cumulative transactions in 2024, marking a 71% increase in active users. All this activity led to Institutional investors taking note. The Canary AXL Trust will be custodied by Coinbase, ensuring institutional-grade security and compliance. Similar to Canary’s HBAR Trust, launched in 2024, this new product aims to simplify institutional investment in emerging digital asset sectors.

The Canary AXL Trust represents a first-mover advantage in the institutional investment space. With blockchain interoperability expected to play a major role in DeFi, gaming, and enterprise adoption, this investment vehicle provides institutional investors a regulated, secure, and liquid pathway to gain exposure to Axelar’s growing ecosystem.

The Axelar Network is already collaborating with Ripple’s XRPL and other major blockchain projects to enhance cross-chain compatibility. As more institutions recognize the importance of seamless asset transfers across blockchains, products like the AXL Trust could become a key part of crypto-focused investment portfolios.
