BRICS Investment Forum: Strengthening Cooperation and Business Development in Thailand

Phuket, Thailand — From November 30 to December 1, 2024, the first investment forum titled “BRICS: Investment & Development in Thailand” was held on the island of Phuket. Supported by BRICS, the event brought together leading experts, investors, and business representatives, highlighting the alliance members’ commitment to strengthening economic cooperation. The forum was a significant regional event, providing a platform for discussing strategic projects and promoting investments.

Key Highlights of the Forum

The central figure of the event was Dr. Meechai Thaocharoen, head of BRICS Thailand, representing the International Alliance of Strategic BRICS Projects. In his opening speech, he emphasized the importance of strengthening economic ties between BRICS countries and Thailand’s strategic role as a hub for attracting investments in Southeast Asia.

“The forum has not only become a platform for discussing strategies but also a genuine bridge between cultures, technologies, and innovations. We see tremendous potential in creating new opportunities for collaboration,” Dr. Thaocharoen noted.

The event was divided into two stages, each with its unique theme and format.

Day One: Business Meetings and Presentations

The forum commenced on November 30 at the Courtyard by Marriott Phuket Town hotel. Under the patronage of the event’s general organizer, Ice Arena, participants engaged in panel discussions and presentations. Leading experts showcased promising projects, addressing the development of infrastructure, technology, and tourism within the framework of BRICS partnerships.

Particular attention was drawn to Russian actress Gulnara Nizhinskaya, who made her debut in a new role by presenting her company, Maikhao Dream Co. Her presentation sparked lively discussions, particularly about the role of women entrepreneurs in modern business. Maikhao Dream Co stood out as a prominent forum partner, demonstrating the integration of contemporary trends into the hospitality industry.

Day Two: Informal Gathering and Knowledge Exchange

On December 1, forum participants moved to the luxurious Maikhao Dream Villa, where an afterparty was held. This event served not only as the informal part of the forum but also as an excellent opportunity to establish new business connections.

Janelle Tyurina, CEO and co-owner of Maikhao Dream Co, delivered a speech where she shared her vision for the future of the hospitality business. She emphasized the importance of implementing innovative technologies to enhance service quality and attract international tourists.

“We aim to create not just a place to stay but a full-fledged ecosystem that combines comfort, sustainability, and technology. Our experience shows that such approaches resonate with a global audience,” said Janelle Tyurina.

The informal gathering was attended by influential business representatives and notable figures from Phuket, further underscoring the forum’s status as one of the island’s most significant events.

Forum Outcomes and Prospects

The first investment forum, “BRICS: Investment & Development in Thailand,” marked an important milestone in fostering regional cooperation. It reaffirmed Thailand’s significance as a hub for attracting investments and strengthening ties between BRICS countries.

The BRICS Forum Asia platform, a key information partner of the event, has already announced plans to organize new initiatives in the region. Experts note that such efforts open up new opportunities for business and investment, reinforcing global collaboration.
