The holiday airline Condor will emphasize, in the words of company boss Ralf Teckentrup, due to the corona crisis, up to 25 percent of its jobs. That would be up to 1000, said Teckentrup the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sunday Newspaper. He expressed the view that the Corona of a pandemic-related crisis in the air travel industry will take until 2024. Condor is held by around half a billion euros in financial assistance from the state alive. Also, the Corona-crisis hard-hit Lufthansa subsidiary Austrian Airlines, wants to cut jobs. By 2022, the workforce will be reduced from currently 7000 employees around 1100, said CEO Alexis von Hoensbroech of the Austrian newspaper The Standard. The airline plane short-time work for two years. In this period, the dismissals are not possible. Then, the removal can be managed largely through normal staff turnover, so Hoensbroech. Also, Austrian Airlines receives state money; Austria granted crisis aid of more than 450 million euros.
