A2 near Castrop-Rauxel: Three dead after accident on motorway car park in the Ruhr area

Three people have died in a collision between several vehicles in a motorway car park in the Ruhr area: two motorists and a man who had run to the scene of the accident. Several people were also injured, a police spokesman said. Previously, the “Ruhr Nachrichten” had reported on the case.

According to reports, a car crashed into a lorry on the A2 near Castrop-Rauxel in the evening on the driveway of the motorway car park. The car slid under the truck – the motorist died, the spokesman said.

One person then rushed to the scene of the accident and was caught by a second car heading to the car park. It was unclear at first whether the man wanted to provide first aid, according to “Ruhr Nachrichten”.

The second car then crashed into the first car and the truck. The driver of the second car also died.
